Amani Terms of Use

These Terms of Use ("Terms") are an agreement between you and Nauman Mohiuddin, an individual developer based in Canada ("Amani", "we", "us") for your use of the Amani app and related services. Full terms online: https://amaniapp.pages.dev/terms. By downloading or using Amani you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use Amani.

Apple App Store: these Terms supplement, and do not replace, Apple's Standard End User License Agreement (https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/), which applies to the app when you download it from the App Store. If these Terms conflict with it for the app license, Apple's terms control for that matter.

1. Who can use Amani

You must be at least 13 years old (or older if your country requires it; for example 16 in parts of the EEA), and able to enter a binding agreement. If you are under the age of majority, use Amani only with a parent or guardian's permission.

2. What Amani is, and is not

Amani provides daily affirmations, guided sessions, journaling, mood check-ins, reminders and widgets, in twelve languages. It works on your device and does not need an account.

• Not medical, psychological or financial advice. Amani is for self-reflection and general wellbeing only. It does not diagnose, treat or prevent any condition, and it is not a substitute for a qualified professional. Do not delay or ignore professional help because of something in Amani.
• No guaranteed results. Manifestation and affirmation practices are personal reflection practices; we do not promise any outcome in your finances, relationships, health or career.
• Not for emergencies. If you may be in danger or thinking about harming yourself, contact local emergency services or a crisis line right away (for example https://findahelpline.com/).
• Synthetic voices. The voices used in Amani are AI-generated (synthetic) and were recorded in advance (English ships inside the app; other languages are downloaded once when you choose them); they are not recordings of real people reading to you personally. Affirmations are written for the app, not generated for you by an AI. Use your own judgment.

3. Your data

How we handle information is described in our Privacy Policy (https://amaniapp.pages.dev/privacy). In short: your name, answers, journal, moods and voice notes stay on your device, and the only data that leaves it is what the stores and RevenueCat need to process your subscription, plus the ordinary technical details of downloading voice recordings for your language. You are responsible for keeping your device secure and for exporting data you want to keep before changing or resetting devices. We cannot recover local data you have lost.

4. Subscriptions (Amani Premium)

• Plans. Amani Premium is offered as an auto-renewing subscription, monthly or yearly. The yearly plan may include a 7-day free trial for eligible new subscribers. The price, currency, billing period and trial eligibility are shown in the app and in the App Store before you subscribe.
• Payment. Payment is charged to your Apple ID account (or Google Play account) at confirmation of purchase, or at the end of the free trial.
• Auto-renewal. Your subscription renews automatically at the same length and the then-current price unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the period ends.
• Free trial. If you start a free trial and do not cancel at least 24 hours before it ends, you will be charged for the first paid period. Any unused portion of a free trial is forfeited when you purchase a subscription, where the store allows it.
• Managing and cancelling. Manage or cancel in your Apple ID settings (Settings > your name > Subscriptions) or in Google Play (Payments & subscriptions > Subscriptions). Deleting the app or your data does not cancel a subscription.
• Refunds. Payments are handled by Apple or Google, and refunds are subject to their policies. We are not able to issue refunds for purchases made through the stores, and subscriptions are not refunded for the unused part of a period except as the store or law requires.
• Price changes. If the price changes, the store will notify you and, where required, ask for your consent before you are charged the new price.
• Restore purchases. Use "Restore purchases" in the app to restore access on a new device.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to: use Amani for unlawful, harmful or abusive purposes; attempt to reverse engineer, scrape, overload or bypass the limits or security of the app; or share your premium access in ways the store does not allow.

6. Content and ownership

Amani, including its design, text, audio, illustrations, sounds and code, belongs to us or our licensors and is protected by law. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the app for your own non-commercial purposes. You own what you write (your journal and intentions). You may share affirmations using the in-app share features for personal use. The voices are synthetic speech created with Google Cloud Text-to-Speech. Soundscapes, chimes and tones were created for Amani. Fonts are used under their open licences.

7. Availability and changes

Subscription purchases and restores depend on the app stores and an internet connection and may be unavailable at times. Voice recordings for languages other than English need an internet connection once to download. Everything else works offline. We may change, suspend or discontinue features, and may update these Terms. If a change is material we will update the effective date and, where required, notify you. Continued use after a change means you accept it.

8. Disclaimers and liability

Amani is provided "as is" and "as available". To the maximum extent permitted by law, we do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted or error free, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses or for decisions you make based on its content. Nothing in these Terms limits any rights you have as a consumer that cannot be limited by law, or our liability for death, personal injury, fraud or anything else that cannot be limited by law.

9. Termination

You may stop using Amani at any time. We may suspend or end access if you breach these Terms or the law. Sections that by their nature should survive will continue.

10. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Canada and of the Canadian province where we are based, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, subject to any mandatory consumer protection laws of the country where you live. Disputes will be resolved by the courts of that province, unless the law where you live gives you the right to bring a claim in your local courts.

Apple is not a party to these Terms and has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the app; questions, claims and warranty matters are handled as set out in Apple's Standard EULA and by us.
